Corvo to renovate an old building and transform it into a service incubator

The Municipal Chamber of Corvo will proceed with the rehabilitation of an old building on the island, which will subsequently be converted into a service incubator, as part of a strategic commitment to stimulate the local economy and create new development opportunities.

The project aims to give new purpose to a vacant property by adapting it into a modern and functional space capable of hosting business initiatives, support services, and innovative projects, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and the diversification of economic activity on the smallest island in the Azores.

According to the Municipality, this intervention forms part of a broader strategy to enhance the territory and strengthen its capacity to respond to the needs of the population, namely by creating conditions to attract and retain young people and encouraging local job creation.

The future service incubator is expected to serve as a support hub for the emergence of new business ideas and the consolidation of existing projects, contributing to the modernisation of Corvo’s economy and the sustainable use of available resources.

The rehabilitation of the building also represents a commitment to the preservation of built heritage, preventing the degradation of older properties while giving them a new purpose in service of the community.

With this investment, the Municipality of Corvo reinforces its commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and the economic and social cohesion of the island, creating the conditions for a more dynamic and resilient future.
