Ongoing Works

Located in the historic area of the village, this project will transform a former grocery store into a commercial gallery, comprising approximately 10 units dedicated to various sectors, including bakery, dairy products, handicrafts, and other local businesses.

With an investment of approximately €689,000, this initiative aims to:

• stimulate local commerce;
• enhance and promote the island’s products;
• create new opportunities for residents and entrepreneurs.

The Municipal Chamber of Corvo is currently undertaking the rehabilitation of a building for the establishment of a Corvo Island Local Business and Technology Incubator, with works commencing in February 2026.

This project aims to create a modern facility to support entrepreneurship, encouraging the development of new businesses, fostering innovation, and promoting the retention of young people on the island.

This initiative combines innovation with local potential, creating opportunities and contributing to the sustainable economic development of Corvo.

The operation is financed under the Açores 2030 Programme, with an eligible cost of €620,326.50 and financial support from the European Union amounting to €527,277.53€, reinforcing the commitment to balanced development and territorial cohesion.

The construction includes a facility equipped with the necessary features to provide care and shelter for abandoned domestic animals, specifically dogs and cats, as well as the treatment of the surrounding area, access routes, and landscaped spaces, always ensuring animal welfare.
