The second edition of the “Ronda Ilhéu” Creative Residency took place at the end of November, featuring visual artist and theatre director Alexandre Sampaio.
Between 26 and 29 November, a Theatre Workshop was held at the Municipal Library, including various physical, vocal, and dramaturgical exercises. Participants had the opportunity to work on body expression, the deconstruction of language, and creative ideas that later contributed to the final presentation.
Students from the Primary School of EBS Mouzinho da Silveira were also visited by Alexandre Sampaio for a session of movement and voice exercises, designed as preparation for theatrical experimentation. The younger participants learned that stepping “onto the stage” requires dedication and hard work.
On 30 November, at the Municipal Library, the collective creation developed during the adult workshop was presented. The working group engaged in several creative dynamics, culminating in a live performance, audiovisual materials, and readings of original texts produced during the workshop.
The performance “Os Brincos à Ronaldo e Outras Histórias”, directed by Alexandre Sampaio (and performed for several years), together with themes related to gender equality awareness, formed the basis for the group’s artistic experimentation.
This edition was supported by EBS Mouzinho da Silveira and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Corvo, with additional support from Dupla Informal Sargaço.
